Bio

I am an Assistant Professor of Gender Studies at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). My research focuses on South Asian folkloric traditions, oral storytelling, and performance practices, with particular attention to how memory, identity, and decolonial knowledge shape these cultural forms. I am especially interested in the study of domesticity and labor within both centralized, state-sponsored narratives and folk traditions, and how these narrative frameworks overlap, diverge, and challenge each other. My work draws on cultural history, literary analysis, and critical theory, and also examines how folklore circulates across communities and evolves within digital and diasporic contexts.
