I am a Phd candidate in Cultural Studies at Stony Brook University. As a cultural studies scholar, my research embodies a variety of interdisciplinary approaches, including film analysis, cultural ethnography and Chinese studies. In addition to cinematic form and content, I situate my analyses within a broader historical context and with respect to political economy. My current research interest lies in the representations of the rural in China.
