Dear colleagues,
We are urgently seeking a discussant for our panel proposal on using DH and Machine Learning methods to process East Asian prints from the 16th to the 20th centuries. Our panel includes 4 paper presentations covering Ming Qing China, Tokugawa Japan, and Colonial Korea and the use of DH/ML to process such prints visually. We are looking for a discussant who is familiar with East Asian print and visual culture and who is interested in the technological development of DH/AI for studying East Asian history. Ideally, the discussant can be a female postdoc researcher, but we are open to all ranks and gender.
Please get in touch with me (Shih-Pei Chen <schen@mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de>) if you might be able to join our panel! We would be very happy to receive any feedback!
Thank you very much.
