Hi all,
We are seeking both a chair and a discussant to participate in our panel "Adaptations and Challenges: Literature, Popular Culture, and Intellectual Confrontation in Post-Socialist China."
This organized panel explore adaptations in cultural production and intellectual confrontation in post-socialist China. Three papers present cultural production in relation to the adaptation of national history in musical, literary, and transmedia forms. One paper focuses on the adaptation of American Neo-Conservatism in post-1989 China, giving additional insight into China's transformation in the intellectual field.
Overall, the collection of papers underscores the cultural representation of post-socialist China by exploring multimedia cultural production and cross-cultural intellectual movement. It encourages the audience to reconsider the modernity of post-socialist China as a period characterized by discontinuities and innovative adaptations.
If you're interested to be the chair of our panel, please contact me at rjiyuan@email.sc.edu.
Thanks!
