Hi AAS scholars! I'm Wendy Weile Zhou, Postdoc at University of Virginia's East Asia Center. Along with Huiran Yi, a PhD Candidate in Information Studies at the University of Michigan, we're organizing a paper panel, tentatively titled "Transnational Asian Diaspora: media engagements and digital cultures." We are looking for panelists whose work focuses on diasporic communities from different Asian countries, mainly East, Central, Southeast, and South Asia. This panel aims to initiate a dialogue around overarching themes and key problematics in this field, especially regarding identify-making, affect and emotions, infrastructure/platform affordances, information flows, etc.
If you are interested, please email your short bio and 1-2 sentences on your paper topic to me at wzhou502@virginia.edu or Huiran at huiran@umich.edu. We're excited to connect and hope to hear from you soon! Thank you so much!
