    Panel abstract:
This panel introduces and explores the concept of Generative Aesthetics, highlighting women's socially engaged creative practices-including visual art, music, theater, performance, and community-based cultural initiatives-across diverse Asian contexts. Generative Aesthetics emphasizes the capacity of creative practices not only to critique existing conditions but also to actively cultivate new relationships, communities, and ecological sensibilities. This perspective underscores the transformative potential embedded within various forms of artistic and cultural engagement.

Through comparative case studies spanning various Asian locales, the panel investigates how women practitioners use diverse creative methods to address interconnected ecological and social challenges, thereby fostering more equitable and sustainable futures. The presentations will collectively illuminate how these creative practices generate critical frameworks and innovative methodologies that challenge prevailing paradigms and nurture new communal possibilities. Employing music, theater, visual and ecological art, embodied performance, and participatory cultural initiatives as dynamic mediums for social engagement, the featured practitioners exemplify Generative Aesthetics by nurturing communities, regenerating ecosystems, and fostering inclusive social relationships.

Ultimately, the panel aims to initiate a scholarly dialogue around Generative Aesthetics, exploring how the specific cultural and socio-political contexts of Asia shape these diverse creative practices, and positioning women's varied artistic endeavors as integral to imagining and enacting alternative, sustainable worlds.
