Hello everyone! I am a fourth-year PhD Candidate in the Built Environment program at the University of Washington. My research focuses on urban public space, social engagement, civic life, and state-society relations in contemporary China. I am currently working on a paper that examines how informal public space in Chinese cities has been shaped and reshaped by the interplay among urban identity, local governance, and social culture.
