Hello. My name is Dr. Lu Zhang, and I hold a PhD in Art History from the University of Nottingham. I am currently looking for a panel to present a paper on the lives of Western missionaries in a resort setting in early 20th-century China. My research primarily focuses on Finnish and Swedish communities, though I have also studied English and American missionary groups.

Possible topics my paper could align with include:

    1. Foreign presence in China during the treaty port era

    2. Transcultural material culture, cross-dressing, and cultural identity

    3. History of tourism and leisure

    4. Missionary and trade activities in China

    5. Architecture and urbanism

Please feel free to contact me if you're organizing a panel that might be a good fit, or if you'd like to hear more about my work. I'm very open to discussing ideas to tailor the presentation to a panel's theme.

Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Warm regards,
    Dr. Lu Zhang
