    Dear colleagues,

I am Xu Yan, a Ph.D. candidate at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, and currently a visiting Ph.D. researcher at the University of Copenhagen. I am looking to join an organized panel for AAS 2027.

My paper examines bridges in Chinese landscape painting as pictorial devices that organize viewing as movement. Through works by Wang E, Tang Yin, and an anonymous Southern Song painting, I discuss how bridges guide the viewer's gaze, produce pause and transition, and generate a relational experience of pictorial space.

I would be very interested in joining a panel related to Chinese painting, East Asian art history, visual culture, pictorial space, landscape, mobility, or spatial experience.

    Best wishes,
