    Hello everyone, 

    We are looking for a discussant to join our panel, "Writing the Rural: Literary Reflections on Agrarian, Environmental, and Indigenous Resistance in Imperial Japan and Colonial Korea."

    This panel interrogates how writers engaged with resistance against the dispossession of the impoverished and the destruction of vital human-land relationships in imperial Japan and colonial Korea. Each paper examines literary works dealing with a (colonial) community - Ainu, Japanese peasants, and Korean farmers - amidst radical land transformations, as well as diverse actors who explore the (im)possibilities of new symbioses.
