    Dear all,

My name is Tess Chen. I am a PhD student from the Department of Anthropology, University of Washington, Seattle.

We are looking for a discussant and/or an additional panelist for our panel on the revival and appropriation of heritage culture in contemporary China from a gender perspective. The title of the panel is:

"Appropriating Inheritance: The Revival of Heritage Culture from a Gender Perspective in Contemporary China".

Our current panelists include Celine Liao, a PhD student from UW sociology, who is presenting on the contemporary revival, appropriation, and adaptation of the inheritance making of Nvshu女书. And me. My presentation is on the convergence between intangible heritages and women's popular culture in Yangzhou, an ethnographic study of a cultural tourism program between the Yangzhou government and the popular mobile game Ashes of the Kingdom(如鸢) by Lingxi Games.

If you are interested in joining or have any recommendations, please contact tchen01@uw.edu or leave a message on this post.

    Best regards,

    Tess
