Dear colleagues,
I am building a panel titled "Places without history? Ambivalence and paradoxes in Asian development narratives" (tentative). It focuses on the "miracle" narratives commonly found in various development projects in Asia and the ambivalence/paradoxes they generate. We currently have a discussant and three presenters from anthropology and art/architecture history covering PRC and Singapore. I am looking for one more presenter who could ideally contribute to increasing the regional diversity of our panel (i.e., someone working outside PRC). If you are interested, please email to Dodom. We are aiming to finalize our submission by August 4 (EST).
