Hello everyone, it's a bit last-minute but we are seeking 1-2 additional paper presenters and a discussant for our panel on Cold War technology and knowledge transfer across Asia
We currently have two papers:
- A paper on Chinese tobacco aid missions to East Africa in the 1960s–70s, examining the limits of socialist agricultural knowledge transfer
- A paper on rubber plantation development in Hainan in the 1950s–60s and the making of Chinese tropical agricultural expertise
We welcome papers on technical assistance, development cooperation, and knowledge circulation across Cold War Asia. If you are interested or have questions, please send a paper title and abstract to q.chen6@lboro.ac.uk by 4th Aug (London time, GMT+1).
