I am organizing a panel for the AAS Annual Conference 2027 and am looking for a chair and a discussant.
The panel is titled:
Relational Worlds: Buddhist Thought in Film, Ritual, Digital Art, and Cultural Memory
It brings together four papers on the following topics:
- Lu Yang's DOKU and Buddhist concepts of non-self and digital reincarnation
- Buddhist perspectives on war memory and responsibility in the cinema of Xie Jin
- The relational production of a local Guanyin through ritual and material practice in Taiwan
- Reverse dependent origination (paṭiloma-paṭiccasamuppāda) and the dynamics of cessation
