Hi Molly, 

Just want to clarify, but the number in the SIDA per diem website indicates the per diem per month that the grant approves for each country? For example, the number in per diem for Vietnam is 411, meaning that the grant would cover up to $411 in per diem for the PI a month? 

Also, are we supposed to fill out in details all the sheets in the budget template? I assume that the dates and rates are our estimation, right?

The SIDA per diem rates are listed in Swedish Krona per day, excluding accommodations. You will need to convert the per diem rate to USD.

Yes, the budget dates and calculations should be your best estimation.

Thanks Molly. May I also ask if the grant will be transferred to the host institution in US dollars or in Swedish Krona? If from USD, what American bank would the grant be transferring from? I'm asking because Vietnamese banks have different wire transfer fee and withdrawing fee for different currencies.

I have an archival project which requires scanning of over 400 books and periodicals. Under 'professional services', can I hire a Research Assistant to help scan the materials?

Sorry for the chain. I found two identical budget templates, one on the application page and another on the grant FAQ page. One of them mentions that I can hire a Research Assistant, while the other one mentions that I cannot. Could you please clarify.
