May I know if the per diem here is inclusive of travel and accommodation expenses? Otherwise, will per diem be provided in addition to travel and accommodation expenses?

I am from Sri Lanka, the per diem rate is indicated in SIDA web page as $ 260, is that correct? and Can it be reduced by us?

Dear Dulan,

The per diem covers ground travel and meals at a daily rate. The per diem is listed in Swedish Krona, so you must convert that to USD. Expatriation allowances for 2023 | Tax (skatteverket.se) Accommodations can be accounted for separately in your budget. 

Given that our research area is quite a distance away from where we currently are, how can we manage the expenses associated with covering that distance? (Sri Lanka only has domestic ground travel) Can we add travel allowances separately

Dear Dulan,

Yes, if it is reasonable for your project to propose airfare, bus, train, etc. travel to access your research sites, you should include those expenses in the "travel" tab of your budget.
