    Our team aims to explore the discourse of knowledge and social practice related to personal cultivation, family education, or national governance under the influence of Confucianism since the 18th century, through literature, poetry, medicine, and other topics. Currently, we have three discussions from Taiwan, China, and Korea. We welcome anyone interested in this topic to join us from the perspective of Japan or Vietnam.

    My name is Ziying Cui. I got my doctoral degree in Dance Studies from Temple University and I am currently working as an adjunct professor at Temple University. 

    I would like to propose my research project about how the ideal female body in Confucianism works with Western cultural imperialism and shapes contemporary Chinese ballet bodies.
