    Dear colleagues,

    Hello from Kathmandu, Nepal!

    I (Amit Gautam), with a master's degree from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and currently working as a research coordinator at Social Science Baha, a Kathmandu-based research organisation, am looking for a panel that I could join as a presenter at the AAS 2026 Annual Conference.

    My study fits into the theme of border studies and cross-border mobility. The study explores the Nepal-India border in Susta, a disputed border area between Nepal and India, focusing on local people's lived experiences and interactions with the 'everyday border.' It highlights how borderland communities navigate and negotiate this space, prioritising livelihood and resilience over strict adherence to state-defined boundaries.
