My name is Kexuan Li, and I am a PhD student in the Department of Japanese Studies at the National University of Singapore. I am organizing a panel for the Association for Asian Studies (AAS) 2027 Annual Conference in Boston. We are currently seeking one additional panelist to complete our panel.
Working Title:
Transnational Life-Making in Contemporary East Asia: Educational Mobility, Digital Nomadism, and Reproductive Choices
This panel examines how individuals pursue and negotiate transnational forms of life-making through migration, mobility, and other cross-border practices in contemporary East Asia. We are particularly interested in research on people who depart from, arrive in, or move within Asia in pursuit of educational, professional, reproductive, or alternative lifestyle trajectories.

Kexuan Li (National University of Singapore) - Japanese educational mobility and transnational life-making in Singapore
Daeun Lee (National University of Singapore) - Digital nomadism in Korea and Japan

We would especially welcome a scholar from a different institution to broaden the panel's institutional and intellectual diversity. Research engaging with educational mobility, migration, reproductive mobility, lifestyle mobility, labor mobility, or other forms of cross-border life-making in or related to East Asia would be particularly relevant.
